Will the Green Bay Packers be without their star wide receiver
Things seemed to be looking in the Green Bay Packers‘ favor offensively heading into the weekend. Now, they could be short-handed at a position of need.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, wide receiver Davante Adams did not practice Thursday for the second straight day. He currently is day-to-day after suffering an ankle injury against the Jaguars Sunday.
Despite leaving the game in the fourth quarter, Adams would return to help the Packers come from behind to claim a victory. Thanks to a 6-yard touchdown catch, Green Bay would go up 24-20 and eventually hold on for the win. Adams finished with eight catches for 66 yards and the score.

Limiting himself in practice, Adams still is planning on playing Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Looking at the full picture, the top target for Matt LaFleur’s offense told reporters that he hopes another injury won’t derail his season moving into the closing months.
What will Green Bay do if Adams can’t go?
Adams missed two games earlier this season with a hamstring injury suffered in Week 2 against Detroit. The following week, Green Bay would lose their No. 2 target in Allen Lazard to a core injury. Lazard recently was elevated from the team’s injured reserve and is expected to play for the first time since October.
Green Bay’s heavy reliance on Adams could be tampered with if he’s unable to go. This season, the three-time Pro Bowler has tallied 61 catches for 741 yards and nine touchdowns. Running back Aaron Jones currently sits in second place with 28 and there isn’t a receiver with more than 500 yards on the year.

The Colts’ pass defense has been one of the biggest surprises this season. In nine games, Indianapolis has allowed an average of 198.7 receiving yards to opponents per game. The team also ranked second in the league on interceptions with 11.
Green Bay could be in for a handful against the Colts’ secondary if Adams is unable to go. And in a tight race towards the NFC North, any loss could be detrimental on playoff implications.
