NBA Draft 2020: 5 best undrafted players
4. Josh Hall, Moravian Prep
Josh Hall is a high school player who did a prep year at Moravian Prep intending to go to NC State before entering the draft instead. He was listed at 6-foot-9, but combine results showed that he was really closer to 6-foot-7.5, which likely partially fueled his drop as he could no longer be billed as this super tall shooter with some potential on the defensive end.
But even with Hall being average forward height rather than tall for a shooter, he’s still worth the gamble. Being 6-foot-7.5 isn’t exactly short, and Hall’s high end as a shooter is valuable. For example, there’s little that he’s worse at than a guy like Robert Woodard, who was drafted No. 40 overall to the Kings as a far less sure bet to shoot or defend or handle. But also you can consider that he’s shown some flashes as a handler that might be able to attack close-outs, and on defense while he does have issues with actually stopping things, he is very consistent in scramble situations about making sure to put a body on a guy. While he’s old for a prep guy, with an October 2000 birthday, he’s still got enough things put together with his physical tools that the Thunder picked him up quickly as the cherry on top of an already incredible draft.
