NFL Week 11: Trends which will decide each game
Off: Buffalo Bills (7-3) and Chicago Bears (5-5)
Bills: Despite owning the top spot in the AFC East and with a 4-0 divisional record, Sean McDermott’s team has had its issues on the defense. Yes, the 32-30 stunning setback at Arizona showed just how much quarterback Josh Allen has grown from year two to year three. But Leslie Frazier’s unit has been a disappointment this year even when the team was off to its 4-0 start. After giving up the third-fewest total yards in the league a season ago, the Bills have dipped to 20th in that area in 2020. And only four clubs in the NFL are allowing more yards per game rushing. All told, Buffalo has allowed 30 offensive touchdowns in 10 games – already three more (27) than all of last season.
Bears: Losers of four straight games, the Chicago offense failed to score a touchdown in the 19-13 setback to Minnesota. The lone venture into the end zone came via a Cordarrelle Patterson 104-yard kickoff return. Quarterback Nick Foles went down hard late in the Monday night loss. And it will be interesting to see who will start at quarterback when the club returns to action in Week 12 at Green Bay. During the team’s current four-game skid, Matt Nagy’s club has totaled 63 points while the offensive unit has scored just four touchdowns. The Bears own the league’s worst ground game – 78.2 yards per contest – and have a total of two rushing TDs in 2020.
