Patrick Mahomes wishes Joe Burrow well after ugly injury
Patrick Mahomes wasted no time sending well wishes to Joe Burrow after the rookie signal-caller was carted off the field with a serious-looking knee injury.
Terrible news has arrived for the Cincinnati Bengals, as No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow just went down with a knee injury going up against the Washington Football Team. Things look serious, as Burrow was carted off the field and was in a ton of pain beforehand while laying on the turf.
Players have already come out to wish him well in what may be a long recovery. This includes reigning Super Bowl MVP and superstar Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who showed Burrow love on Twitter moments ago.
Patrick Mahomes took to social media to show concern for Joe Burrow and his knee injury
The post from Mahomes should come as no surprise, as he’s viewed as one of the classier players in the league. Unfortunately, it comes in truly heartbreaking circumstances. Burrow is in the middle of an impressive rookie season, but the initial fear is that he may have suffered an ACL injury.
If that indeed is the case for the youngster, it’ll mark a terrible ending to what’s been an impressive first year in the NFL. Burrow arrived to the league after powering LSU to a national championship and winning the Heisman Trophy. This season for Cincinnati, he had thrown for 2,485 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions.
At the beginning of the season, he had displayed some usual, expected rookie mistakes, but he had really been coming on of late for the Bengals in running the offense. Now, everyone around the league, including Mahomes, will hope Burrow has avoided a major injury, but things don’t look good right now.
