2020 NFL power rankings, Week 12: Titans and Colts win in OT
The reigning NFC champions have already lost twice as many games as they did a year ago. The club is three games out of first place and injuries have played a major factor in the team’s disappointing showing.
The defense is missing Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas, 2019 playoff standout Raheem Mostert has missed plenty of time and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is on the shelf. The Niners are the only team in the NFC West with a losing mark.
The team has won three of its last five games after a 0-5 start and all are within the division, including a sweep of Washington and a victory over the Eagles.
Joe Judge’s club has come a long way since the early-season struggles and second-year quarterback Daniel Jones and the team have played turnover-free football the past two games after giving up the football 15 times in eight contests. The Giants’ defense has made tremendous strides as well.
The Panthers would be without running back Christian McCaffrey once again as Matt Rhule’s team looked to snap a five-game losing streak when they hosted the Lions. And P.J. Walker would make his first NFL start in place of injured Teddy Bridgewater.
The big story was Carolina’s defense, allowing only 185 yards while sacking Matthew Stafford five times. Walker threw two interceptions in the end zone but passed for 258 yards and one score.
