2020 NFL power rankings, Week 12: Titans and Colts win in OT
The Packers had some unexpected issues with the Jaguars last Sunday and now faced another AFC South squad when they visited Indianapolis. The team got off to a 28-14 lead but when it was all said and done, the NFC North leaders made too many mistakes.
After committing only five turnovers in their first nine contests, Matt LaFleur’s club gave up the football four times. Aaron Rodgers threw for 311 yards and three TDs but had two turnovers.
The team seeks its first division title since 1995 and after 11 weeks are alone atop the AFC East. Quarterback Josh Allen has made significant strides in his third season and the Buffalo offense has been the key to the club’s 7-3 start.
A year after allowing only 259 points – the second-fewest in the league – Sean McDermott’s club has given up 265 points in 10 contests. The offseason trade for wide receiver Stefon Diggs has proven to be a major coup.
The team has already matched last year’s win total and is pursuing the franchise’s first playoff appearance since 2007. Veteran quarterback Tom Brady has brought some leadership to the club but he’s laid the occasional egg, witness the losses to the Saints.
Ronald Jones has really emerged out of the backfield and Todd Bowles’ defense has had a penchant for the takeaway. But this latter unit has also given up its share of big plays on occasion.
