LeBron’s tweet about Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ win is so perfect

The Los Angeles Lakers star gives major props to Patrick Mahomes for his late-game theatrics to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to victory.
On NFL Sunday afternoon, the Green Bay Packers-Indianapolis Colts game was arguably the contest of Week 11. Any game following that would be a tough act to follow. But Sunday evening’s Kansas City Chiefs-Las Vegas Raiders contest was an exciting, offensive duel that enticed even the most casual of fans.
With the Raiders taking a late 31-28 lead on a Jason Witten touchdown reception, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had over a minute and a half to retake the lead. Mahomes only needed about 50 seconds, as he hit a wide-open Travis Kelce in the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.
Even though viewers were left in stunned awe, this is the type of performance you expect from Mahomes. That includes Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who said there was no doubt that Mahomes would lead the Chiefs to victory. Mahomes retweeted James after the game and thanked him for the compliment.
Game recognizing game
What James said was pretty much the universal thoughts of all football fans. Mahomes with the game on the line is absolutely lethal, kind of like when James has the ball in the waning seconds of Lakers games.
Mahomes and the Chiefs were out for revenge against the Raiders, who defeated them earlier this season and irked them by taking victory laps around the Arrowhead Stadium parking lot. Kansas City’s win was by no means an easy task, especially since Las Vegas quarterback Derek Carr was nearly unstoppable, as he completed 23-of-35 pass attempts for 275 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. As for Mahomes, he threw for 348 yards, two touchdowns and one pick on a 75.6 completion percentage.
The Chiefs may not be in the driver’s seat that is the top of the AFC standings like the Lakers had this past season in the Western Conference, but they do carry the momentum of being heavy favorites to win the Super Bowl in February. Regardless of the result, Mahomes will have a big supporter in James for their repeat journey.
