Ravens’ J.K. Dobbins, Mark Ingram will miss Steelers game
By Mike Luciano
The Baltimore Ravens will be without two of their top running backs next week.
The Baltimore Ravens went from Super Bowl favorites to 6-4 following a loss against the Tennessee Titans, and a game against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers isn’t exactly the best medicine for a struggling offense. Lamar Jackson will need to be even better to take down Pittsburgh this week, as he will be without two of his best running backs.
Per Mike Garafolo, both rookie J.K. Dobbins and veteran Mark Ingram have tested positive for COVID-19, leaving Gus Edwards as the de facto lead back for a scheduled Thanksgiving tussle with the Steelers.
The Ravens’ running game will be decimated without Dobbins and Ingram
Dobbins has started to see an uptick in carries over the last few weeks, and the rookie out of Ohio State’s 483 yards from scrimmage lead all Ravens running backs. While Ingram is third in carries behind Dobbins and Edwards, he is coming off of a Pro Bowl season, and he could’ve helped Baltimore puncture a tough Pittsburgh defensive line.
The Baltimore offense has been sputtering over the last few weeks, and their only hope of an upset will hinge on a balanced attack whittling down a tough Steelers defense.
While Jackson proved last year he is capable of winning games by himself, asking one quarterback, a powerful, yet not overly athletic running back, and a stockpile of below-average receivers to hand a 10-0 team their first loss of the season is quite the tall order for John Harbaugh and company.
