Aaron Rodgers took a moment to shade Patrick Mahomes over his no-look passing.

Aaron Rodgers have proven he can make just about any throw throughout his career. He can throw it deep, throw it on the run, get in a little side-arm action, and even pull off a no-look pass from time to time.

But when you think of no-look passes in 2020, Patrick Mahomes is the top name that comes to mind. He is the NFL’s golden child and has earned the respect he has. Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee Show recently to make it known the no-look pass is not Mahomes’ invention. A little shade was thrown in as well.

Rodgers educates fans on history of no-look passing

The Green Bay Packers quarterback made sure to point out his own skills while also noting how Matthew Stafford is a wizard with the ball himself. The shade thrown at Mahomes seemed to be in jest, but it is easy to see where Rodgers is coming from. Mahomes is doing things he has already done for years and all the focus is on the wunderkind in Kansas City.

Rodgers is also hanging tight with Mahomes in nearly every offensive category, even though Mahomes is the betting favorite for MVP. Rodgers’ mark of 29 touchdowns and four interceptions is quite competitive with Mahomes’ totals of 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions.

The veteran wants to make it clear the young guy didn’t invent the no-look pass. Just like Rodgers didn’t invent many of the things he is doing on the field. Look for him to break out a few special passes this Sunday to drive his point home even further on a national stage.
