With the PGA Tour on Thanksgiving break, the European Tour takes center stage with the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Draftkings is offering a number of outstanding fantasy golf contests for this tournament!

Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament, let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play this week.

The Alfred Dunhill Championship will be played at Leopard Creek Country Club in South Africa. This golf course is a Gary Player design. The track is a par 72 that measures 7,287 yards. Based on the winning scores from previous champions of this event, this course appears to fall on the easier side for professional golfers. The course currently offers bermuda grass greens. It should be noted that the greens were changed from Bentgrass to Bermuda grass in 2018.

This event has been played at Leopard Creek Country Club annually since 2004.

Now let’s shift our focus to my Draftkings player selections for the Alfred Dunhill Championship!

Brandon Stone $10,500

Brandon Stone has played the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club four times. In those four previous events played, Stone has three top 18 finishes, including a win at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship.

As far as current form goes, well, he certainly checks that box for me as well. Stone has four top 19 finishes in his last five events played on the European Tour, including a fourth place result at last week’s Joburg Open.

Laurie Canter $9,300

The Englishman has played ten tournaments on the European Tour since the beginning of August. In those ten events played, Canter has six top 14 finishes, including a second place result at the Italian Open.

It should also be noted that Canter finished 14th at the 2019 Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Darren Fichardt $7,800

The 45 year old South African has finished inside the top 28 five times at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, including a 12th place result in 2018. Last week, Fichardt fired a first round 67 at the Joburg Open en route to an eventual 11th place finish.

In an effort to determine just how well Fichardt fared statistically compared to his fellow competitors at last week’s Joburg Open I took a hard look at the event data. Upon completion of four rounds of play at the Joburg Open, in relation to the field, Fichardt ranked eighth in strokes gained tee to green (2.60), 15th in strokes gained approach (1.12), sixth in par four scoring average (3.86), and ninth in putts per GIR (1.64).

Jacques Blaauw $7,500

The South African arrives at this week’s event on the heels of five consecutive top seven finishes (Sunshine and European Tours combined), including a seventh place result at last week’s Joburg Open.

Bryce Easton $7,500

The 33 year old has four top 19 finishes in his last eight tournaments played on the European Tour, including a seventh place result at last week’s Joburg Open. Easton also finished tenth at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Jonathan Caldwell $7,300

The 36 year old has played 14 events on the European Tour since the Tour re-started the season in July. In those 14 events played, Caldwell has six top 39 finishes, including a seventh place result at the Scottish Championship. It should also be noted that Caldwell made the cut in 11 of the 14 events he has played since July.
