The Chiefs need to be on upset alert in Tampa Bay

There’s something about the Las Vegas Raiders that exposes flaws in the ointment of the Kansas City Chiefs. Las Vegas upset the defending champions at Arrowhead Stadium back in Week 5 and nearly completed the season sweep on Sunday night before Patrick Mahomes pulled out a thrilling comeback win on the final drive.

There is no doubt that the Chiefs are one of the AFC’s best teams but these two Raiders’ contests have exposed some flaws in their operation. Derek Carr has torched them this season, completing 72.6 percent of his passes against Kansas City with six touchdowns against just two interceptions, while the Chiefs’ defense allowed 71 points in two games against the Raiders.

Despite all of that, Kansas City hits the road this week as 2.5-point favorites against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is a very dangerous game for the Chiefs since Tampa Bay is one of the NFL’s most complete teams that features an elite defense, allowing just 22.6 points per game over their first nine games.

The contest should be very close and Tom Brady is one of the few quarterbacks in the league with enough weaponry to match Patrick Mahomes score-for-score. Anything less than their best effort could lead to a significant loss for Kansas City.
