Draftkings Golf: Alfred Dunhill Championship Final Round Showdown Picks

This Sunday, Draftkings/DFS community will be presented with the final round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Let’s take a look at the final round showdown slate from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I want to clearly state that this article is specifically focused on the final round showdown contest. The Draftkings showdown contest is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional contests offered by Draftkings for DFS golf.

If you are not familiar with the rules for the Draftkings single round showdown contests I highly recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for for more details.

*As of this writing (Friday evening), Draftkings has not posted the final round showdown contests.  Due to this fact, this article will simply provide my final round player selections absent of specific price points as they are not yet available.

Here are my DFS player selections for the final round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship!

Johannes Veerman

The talented young American has been stacking up some quality results lately. More specifically, Veerman has three top ten finishes in his last six events on the European Tour, including a fourth place result at the Cypress Showdown two weeks ago.

Veerman also checks the box for me when it comes to key statistics. Johannes is currently ranked third in scoring average (69.81), fourth in par five scoring average (4.51), and 17th in GIR (greens in regulation-70.52%) on the European Tour.

Adrian Otaegui

The 28 year old Spaniard has five top 22 finishes in his last ten events on the European Tour, including a win at the Scottish Championship last month.

Otaegui is currently ranked 15th in strokes gained approach (0.70) and 19th in strokes gained tee to green (0.94) on the European Tour.

Richard Bland

Bland finished 16th at the Italian Open in October. More recently, Bland finished seventh at last week’s Joburg Open.

When playing final round DFS golf contests, I like to look at key player statistics for the event as it is ongoing. Having stated that, let’s take a look at how Bland is performing in relation to the field. After two rounds of play at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, in relation to the field, Bland is currently ranked third in strokes gained tee to green (4.50), third in strokes gained approach (3.34), and fourth in GIR (80.55%).

Marcus Armitage

The 33 year old Englishman has three top 14 finishes in his last four events on the European Tour, including a tenth place result at the Italian Open.

Daniel Van Tonder

The South African missed the cut at last week’s Joburg Open. However, prior to that missed cut, Van Tonder had four wins in his previous six tournaments on the Sunshine Tour.

As of this writing (Friday evening), Van Tonder is currently tied for 15th at the Alfred Dunhill Championship with a two round cumulative score of 15 under par.
