Iowa State’s Breece Hall provided a juicy quote about Texas following his team’s big win Friday.

Running back Breece Hall has been a star for Iowa State in 2020. The nation’s leading rusher kept his great year going with 91 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s exciting victory over Texas.

But Breece didn’t just run all over the Longhorns on the field. He provided a quote after the game that sums up the difference between Iowa State and Texas. One is a five-star culture while the other is a program with a few five-star players. That’s the truth.

Breece Hall torches Texas again

Head coach Matt Campbell has built something special at Iowa State and it will be a shock if he doesn’t have a bigger and better job in 2021. His team is now 7-2 and set to compete in the Big 12 Championship Game following Friday’s win.

Meanwhile, Texas dropped to 5-3 and Tom Herman’s job is in question. A few plays going in Texas’ favor Friday could have changed that, but therein lies the difference between just having talent and building a great culture.

This was Hall’s first game of the season not going over the 100-yard mark. He still managed 91 yards while Texas had quarterback Sam Ehlinger lead their team with only 65 yards. There is always going to be added motivation to take down a powerhouse program like Texas and actually winning leads to questions of why it happened.

Hall made it clear as to why and Texas boosters are left pointing the finger at Herman for not being able to take all the talent he has and win games. There is a built-in advantage when recruiting at Texas. But it still takes a good coach to piece it all together and not lose to Iowa State at home.
