The Oregon-Oregon State game featured intense fog that obscured the action from view, even from the refs on the field.

How bad is the fog in Corvallis, Oregon? Everyone missed an interception because of it.

Oregon quarterback Tyler Shough tried to hit a receiver on the outside, but Oregon State’s Jaydon Grant jumped the pass and picked it off.

The trouble is, the broadcast, media in the press box and even the refs didn’t seem to catch it at first.

It’s easy to see why the broadcasters had such a hard time calling the play, even though the view from the field-level camera showed how obvious an INT it was.

Fortunately, this won’t go down as one of the worst blown calls in history. The refs huddled up and promptly awarded the ball to the Beavers.

Oregon is dealing with fog and Oregon State’s upset bid

Nothing ultimately came of the interception as Oregon stopped Oregon State on fourth down near midfield and kicked a field goal before the half was up. However, the Beavers still put up quite a fight.

The Ducks opened the scoring with a Jaylon Redd touchdown run from 37 yards out only to be answered almost immediately by Jamar Jefferson with an 82-yard romp to the endzone. Shough gave Oregon the lead again on a one-yard keeper. It wasn’t enough for Oregon State to answer with a field goal, especially when Shough found Devon Williams for a 60-yard score.

Even though Oregon State kept it interesting in the third quarter with a touchdown drive, Oregon responded to expand their lead to 30-19.

The Ducks hope to keep on marching in the Pac-12 North win an eye on winning the division. A hiccup against 1-2 Oregon State, in a rivalry game no less, would be far from ideal. As it is, Oregon faces an uphill climb to convince the College Football Playoff selection committee they are worthy of a playoff place.
