A tweet from Nate Robinson in 2010 resurfaced after his KO loss to Jake Paul.

Nate Robinson was hoping to make a solid transition from his days slam dunking on the NBA courts to the boxing ring. Those hopes fell flat on their face, as did Robinson, in his professional boxing debut against Jake Paul on the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. card.

To make matters worse, an old tweet Robinson posted in 2010 — in which he says he’d need little to work to be competitive with the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao — resurfaced.

Nate Robinson might regret this tweet after getting KO’d by Jake Paul

The bout featured plenty of grappling throughout the first round, looking more like a grappling or wrestling bout than a boxing one.

Paul dropped Robinson late in the opening round, with Robinson slow to get to his feet despite a referee’s arguably slow count. In the second round, after some more clinching, Paul dropped Robinson twice more, the final time resulting in Robinson falling to the canvas face first.

Robinson played for about a decade in the NBA and was the only three-time NBA Slam Dunk champion.

Paul, a YouTube star, moved to 2-0 with his second-round KO.
