Texas Tech football may have attempted the worst onside kick in the history of time.

Texas Tech did an awful job on this onside kick and Oklahoma State burned them.

When Brady Pohl attempted the onside kick for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, he was hoping his teammates would have his back. Jason Taylor of the Oklahoma State Cowboys adeptly grabbed the onside kick attempt, parted the recovery front of the Red Raiders and took it all the way for special teams pay dirt. This made it 28-24 Pokes after the Red Raiders’ special teams gaff.

This is why Texas Tech remains Texas Tech

Oklahoma State may not be anything more than the fourth-best team in the Big 12, but the Cowboys are too talented to not take advantage of poor execution by a team like Texas Tech. Yes, you may have to do some tricky things to steal a position from the Cowboys, but how do you allow yourself to go from being up 24-21 to trailing 28-21 on one dumb play like that? This was nuts!

Hopefully, this terrible decision by the Red Raiders does not come back to haunt them today.
