Romain Grosjean survives horrific first-round crash which splits car in half, burst into flames

Formula One driver survives horrific first-round crash which splits car in half.

A terrifying moment at Sunday’s Formula One race, the Bahrain Grand Prix, when Romain Grosjean crashed during the very first lap, hitting the guard rail, splitting his car in half and instantly bursting into flames. Miraculously he was able to emerge from the car, alive. Nothing like this has ever been seen in a race of this kind. Fans and broadcasters from around the world were in shock Grosjean survived the crash at all.

The crash happened in the blink of an eye and medics were seen spraying the French driver with fire extinguisher. The race was delayed more than 45 minutes as the crew cleaned up the wreckage and repaired the guard rail.

Grosjean was seen with a charred helmet and was limping towards the ambulance but seems to be only treated for minor injuries. He was reported to have minor burns on his hands and ankles.
