Steelers-Washington Week 13 matchup officially postponed

With their game against the Baltimore Ravens officially postponed, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 13 contest against the Washington Football Team is on the move as well.
The Pittsburgh Steelers know all too well about postponed games. Earlier in the season, they lost their bye week due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the Tennessee Titans. This past week, a massive spread of the coronavirus in the Baltimore Ravens locker room caused their Week 12 matchup to be postponed twice. Now, that game has been moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. But what about the Steelers’ Week 13 contest against the Washington Football Team?
According to the Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the Pittsburgh-Washington game has officially been postponed to Monday, Dec. 7. Kickoff will take place at 5 p.m. ET, as confirmed by NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.
Steelers get an extra day to prepare for Washington
There was a bit of outrage regarding the Steelers’ Week 13 game against the Washington Football Team, who were originally slated to play on Sunday afternoon. That would’ve forced the Steelers to have three days to prepare for that contest. Now, they’ll have four days to get ready for Washington.
Prior to the Week 12 postponement announcement, it was revealed that four Ravens players were removed from the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list, but four more were added to the list, bringing the total to 19. Those names added to the list include tight end Mark Andrews, linebacker Matthew Judon, wide receiver Willie Snead and cornerback Terrell Bonds.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Steelers running back James Conner tested positive for COVID-19.
With this postponement, the NFL will now have two games played that Monday. The San Francisco 49ers will host the Buffalo Bills at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, at 8:15 p.m. ET. The 49ers are playing in Arizona due to a prohibition on all contact sports in Santa Clara, Calif. until Dec. 21, with the purpose of slowing the spread of COVID-19 in the area.
