Fantasy Football: 5 waiver wire replacements for Will Fuller
Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller has been suspended for the rest of the season, so here are 5 fantasy football waiver wire options to replace him.
Coming off a big game against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day (six receptions for 171 yards, and two touchdowns), Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller was poised for the stretch run on a high note. But the tune changed on Monday. Fuller has been suspended six games for a violation of the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
Through 11 games, Fuller had already set career-high for catches (53), receiving yards (879) and touchdowns (8). More specifically he had not yet missed a game due to injury, and outside of being shut out by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2 he had been consistent. From Week 3-Week 9, he had a touchdown in six straight games with 100 or more yards in three of them.
It all added up to Fuller being a top-10 fantasy wide receiver across the board. Pending the final game of Week 12 on Wednesday (Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers), Fuller is currently WR4 in standard scoring, WR8 in full PPR and WR5 in 0.5-point PPR.
With the final week of the regular season coming in a lot of leagues, and the playoffs after that, there’s no easy way to replace Fuller, since he has been a top-10 fantasy wide receiver. But he also can’t be kept on a roster in a re-draft league. With some extra time before Week 13, due to the late end to Week 12, here are five potential waiver wire replacements for Fuller.

5. Nelson Agholor, Las Vegas Raiders
Derek Carr seems determined to let fantasy owners down lately, including in a great Week 12 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons (215 yards, no touchdowns, four turnovers). But Agholor had a decent game against the Falcons all things considered, with five catches (on six targets) for 54 yards. He has topped 50 yards in three of the last four games, and in four of the last six (double-digit PPR fantasy points in four of six as well). Over those six games, he has three touchdowns.
In Week 13 the Raiders get a rebound opportunity against the New York Jets. The Jets are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers (Yahoo!, 0.5-point PPR). As a favored target for Carr, Agholor should keep his solid run going.
Week 14 (Indianapolis Colts) and Week 15 (Los Angeles Chargers) are far tougher matchups, before a middle of the road matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 16. But Agholor has been in WR2/WR3 range in all scoring formats since the Raiders’ Week 6 bye, and he should be owned in more leagues.
