Cris Collinsworth apologized for sexist football comments he made during the Steelers-Ravens game
In case you missed it, during the broadcast Collinsworth said, “Everybody’s (in Pittsburgh) a fan. In particular the ladies that I met. They have really specific questions about the game. I’m like wow, just blown away.”
As soon as Collinsworth made this regretful statement, thousands of NFL fans hopped on Twitter to bash him for what he had to say. For Collinsworth to announce in front of millions that he was blown away that women know about football and had questions to ask was simply ludicrous.
To his credit, Collinsworth did put out a sincere apology out. That hasn’t stopped people from continuing to call him out all over social media. For now, it doesn’t look like Collinsworth will be facing any kind of suspension for his comments.
Moving forward, though, he better think twice before he tries to insult fans of any kind during a national telecast. Otherwise, only more insults are going to be coming his way.
