The two most productive wide receivers going into week 13 of fantasy football have beaten every conceivable coverage applied by opposing defenses.  Kansas City’s Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams of Green Bay are each targeted 10 times a game and average 7 catches per game.  Factor in their 24.4 fantasy football points (FFP) per game average and you understand why Hill and Adams are No. 1 and No. 2 among NFL wide receivers.

Surefire Starters

  • Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, put on a show in last Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay.  He had 200 yards receiving in the 1st quarter and went on to catch 13 passes for 269 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hill should have another 25+ FFP performance in a home game this Sunday against division-rival Denver.
  • Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers wide receiver, has missed 2 games this year and yet he is second only to Tyreek Hill in FFP among wide receivers.  He averages 25.4 points per game, which is within reach as the Packers play the Eagles in week 13.
  • D.K. Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver, has been racing up the ratings of wide receivers in fantasy football.   He caught 10 passes for 177 yards iand 27.7 FFP in a week 12 win over Philadelphia.  Expect at least 20 points from Metcalf in the Seahawks week 13 game against the Giants.
  • Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver, has been one of the most consistent pass catchers this season.  He averages 10 targets and 1 touchdown reception per game.  He should score at least 20 FFP against New England this Sunday.

Riding the Bench

Note:  These wide receivers have week 13 ”Byes”.

  • Robby Anderson, Carolina Panthers wide receiver
  • Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver
  • D.J. Moore, Carolina Panthers wide receiver
  • Chris Goodwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver

Underrated

  • Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, is gaining value as a WR2 in fantasy football.  Actually, you could make a case for Adam Thielen being WR1a and Jefferson being WR1b.  Only 1.3 FFP separate the two Viking wide receivers.  Thielen has 163.1 points to Jefferson’s 161.8.  Start Jefferson against Jacksonville in week 13.

Overrated

  • CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, was supposed to give the Dallas pass receiving corps a much needed boost.  Lamb is averaging enough FFP to be a low-ranked WR2 or possibly a “Sleeper” candidate for week 13.  The problem is the Cowboys are playing a Ravens team desperate for a win.

Sleeper WR of the Week

  • DeAndre Hopkins, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver, has been included in each weekly recommendation of fantasy football wide receiver talent and this week is no exception.  Hopkins, like his quarterback Kyler Murray and the Cardinals, has faltered in recent weeks.  But look for Hopkins to be targeted 10+ times and catch 8 oasses in a “must win” game for the Cardinals against division-rival Los Angeles.
