Entire Clemson team congratulating Darien Rencher after TD is so wholesome (Video)

Clemson rewarded Darien Rencher and his teammates rewarded him right back.

Trevor Lawrence was the big name mentioned prominently during the offseason when the Clemson football program organized marches and social justice awareness initiatives. But senior running back Darien Rencher was just as instrumental in those efforts that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Rencher isn’t the star player that Lawrence or fellow running back Travis Etienne is but Rencher is a valuable member of the Clemson football team and what they do and who they are all about. He came into the Virginia Tech game with only 22 carries for 86 yards and a pair of receptions for 15 yards, but he was sent off in style vs. the Hokies.

Rencher took a carry in the fourth quarter and raced to the end zone for a 50-yard touchdown, the first of the season and only the third of his career.

It was a tremendous moment that didn’t get overshadowed and was celebrated by the entire Clemson football team.

Just look at the reaction and ovation from the bench when he came to the sideline after scoring.

On Monday, Rencher won the Disney Spirit Award so it’s been a pretty great week for him.

The win over Clemson secures the sixth straight berth in the ACC Championship Game for Dabo Swinney‘s Tigers. They’ll play Notre Dame in a rematch of the double-overtime loss suffered at South Bend when Lawrence was out with COVID and D.J. Uiagalalei was one play shy of keeping Clemson at the top of the AP Top 25.

Now, they will get a chance for revenge and a shot to secure another trip to the College Football Playoff.
