We already know Justin Fields is a great quarterback, but he’s also a pretty decent blocker too.
Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is one of the best players in college football because of his ability to throw and run. Plus, he’s an incredible leader on and off the field. He showed his all-around skills and why he’s a team player against Michigan State when he delivered a key block to spring Trey Sermon on a long touchdown run.
Yes, you read that correctly. The quarterback threw a block. Yes, I know it hardly ever happens, and most blocks are just the quarterback standing in the way of the freight train, but this was different.
Fields hustled 60 yards down the field and helped free Sermon to cross the end zone for a 64-yard touchdown run as the Buckeyes continue to run up the score against the Spartans.

Fields is not going to be the potential No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft because of his blocking ability. However, he’ll be picked that high in part because he’s a team player and great teammate who is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win. That’s what makes this block and effort so exceptional.
