With Texas head coach Tom Herman on the hot seat, the Longhorns are looking for a win against Kansas State.

Things aren’t going great for University of Texas head coach Tom Herman. Despite the fact that the Longhorns are a decent team, Texas fans want more. So far, Herman hasn’t delivered that. If the Longhorns lose another game, it seems like there’s a decent chance that UT may not give Herman another week to lead its program.

That’ll be especially true if Texas falls to Kansas State on Saturday. The Wildcats started the season off with a rough loss to Arkansas State, but rebounded and took down then No. 3 Oklahoma as part of a four-game winning streak.

That winning streak came to a close and K-State has now lost four in a row. If the Wildcats are to end the season at .500, they’ll need to defend their home turf and upset the Longhorns. Given the coaching rumors swirling and that Texas is reeling after a close loss to Iowa State, there’s a solid chance that this upset happens.

While the upset is technically possible, Kansas State has struggled too much in recent weeks for it to seem likely, barring some sort of catastrophic collapse from the Longhorns. It’s reasonable to expect Herman and UT to grab a win on the road against Kansas State, and also to expect the Longhorns to cover the spread. But, even a win against K-State may not be enough to save Herman’s job.
