Larry Johnson made history for Ohio State football vs. Michigan State and celebrated in a big way after the win over the Spartans.
Larry Johnson made history with the win over Michigan State as he became the first Black head coach in Buckeyes history and celebrated with a dominating win over Michigan State.
Johnson was filling in for Ryan Day who was in isolation due to testing positive for the coronavirus last week. Ohio State was also down four starters and without 23 players against the Spartans but they had quarterback Justin Fields who threw for two touchdowns and ran for another two in the 52-12 win.

The veteran defensive line coach received the celebratory Gatorade shower after the win and he and the team celebrated in the locker room for a thrilling postgame party.

Day is expected to rejoin the team for their game next week vs. rival Michigan. That means Johnson will go back to his normal role but he’ll carry with him a 1-0 record and an immaculate winning percentage, so he’s got that going for him, which is nice.
