LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron let his team know that he’s not pleased with their inability to defend Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith on Saturday.

On Saturday, the LSU Tigers hosted the rival Alabama Crimson Tide. Just last year, LSU managed to defat Alabama, thanks in part to the impressive play of quarterback Joe Burrow and a stellar supporting cast. The 2020 version of LSU is nowhere near as good as the squad from 2019, but they still stepped on the field, confident that they could beat Nick Saban’s team again. Boy, were they wrong.

This game will forever be known as the “DeVonta Smith Game,” as the senior wideout exploded for 219 yards and three touchdowns on seven receptions in the first half! LSU head coach Ed Orgeron was none too pleased with his team and his coaching staff, and he let them know about it following Smith’s second score.

Ed Orgeron was seething in Death Valley

As you can see, Orgeron was big mad. With his mask down (a big no-no, by the way), Orgeron ripped off his communications equipment and spiked them on the ground in pure rage. At this moment, Orgeron realized he wasn’t coaching the National Championship-winning Tigers anymore.

Alabama entered this game with revenge on their minds, and Saban acknowledged that LSU were probably confident on Saturday. So, he wanted to change that line of thinking. And we can say he did that, based on Orgeron’s sideline eruption.
