Nick Saban is ready to unleash the fury on LSU football after they beat the Alabama Crimson Tide last season.

There’s no love lost between Alabama and LSU football fans. After Nick Saban left LSU and later took the Alabama football job after a two-year pit stop with the Miami Dolphins, a rivalry was born.

Over the last decade or so, it’s been one of the best in college football and after LSU beat Alabama behind the efforts of Heisman winner Joe Burrow, Alabama is looking for revenge this time around.

Speaking with CBS’ Jamie Erdahl before the game, Saban spoke with a quiet confidence that he has to remind LSU that they’re not capable of beating Alabama and last year was a fluke.

Nick Saban wants to remind LSU their win vs. Alabama was a fluke

“LSU beat us last year, so they probably have some confidence that they can play well against Alabama,” Saban said. “We’re going to have to change the way they think when it comes to that as well.”

Former Alabama football star left tackle Cam Robinson tweeted on Friday that he hopes Saban and Alabama will hang 70 on the Tigers. They just may too with Mac Jones, Najee Harris and DeVotna Smith the best offensive trio in the nation and the Bayou Bengals unable to stop anyone on defense this year.

Typically, the LSU-Alabama game is predicated on defense and the games are usually low-scoring, one-possession affairs. Last year was a departure in that it was a high-scoring, one-possession affair.

This year? Well, it looks like it’ll be a high-scoring affair from Alabama and a one-sided loss for Ed Orgeron’s LSU team who will have regrets about the SEC rescheduling this game after it was postponed earlier in the year due to COVID.
