Ohio State is back in action Saturday against a Michigan State team fresh off a big win. Here’s how to watch and how to bet on the matchup.

The Ohio State Buckeyes and the entire Big Ten Conference are facing a tough reality. The team is 4-0 and has a favorable matchup against Michigan State this week. However, the Big Ten is not making up games and if the Buckeyes don’t reach a total of six they are not, as of now, eligible for the Big Ten Championship Game.

An undefeated Buckeyes team needs to be in the College Football Playoff and the Big Ten made a mess of this situation. The only way that situation changes is if the Buckeyes fall to the Spartans this Saturday. Michigan State took down a top-10 Northwestern team already and is now seeking an even more monumental upset.

The Buckeyes’ top challenge of the season came against Indiana in their most recent game. The other three wins have all come by at least 13 points. This game is particularly tough to bet on because of the inconsistency of Michigan State. They were shutout 24-0 by Indiana, but also beat Northwestern by a final score of 29-20. So which team will show up Saturday?

The ultimate difference here is that Ohio State is an elite team far above the likes of the Hoosiers and Wildcats. This spread should be covered as the Buckeyes look to make a statement as they prove the belong in the Playoff.

That task includes running up the score, which should make the over a smart bet. The Buckeyes scored 42 against Indiana and are entering this game with an extra week of rest. Something around a 49-17 victory would put the over in play with plenty of time to spare.
