Oklahoma State football fans are tired of what they have seen out of head coach Mike Gundy.

Mike Gundy is being run out of town by Oklahoma State football Twitter after his latest loss.

The No. 15 Oklahoma State Cowboys lost for the third time this season in Big 12 play. After a 4-0 start, the Pokes have dropped three of their last five games, including their most recent to the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth. Now that the Cowboys are officially eliminated from the Big 12 championship game, Oklahoma State football Twitter wants to move on from its long-time coach.

2011 was nearly a decade ago for Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys

This had the potential to be the best Oklahoma State team Gundy had since winning the Big 12 Championship back in 2011.

They had all sorts of offensive weapons to work with, as well as a vulnerable Oklahoma Sooners team it might be able to knock off in Bedlam.

Well, it was just more of the same for Gundy in the Pokes this year, as they lost in Bedlam for the 14th time in 16 chances under his watch, as well as dropping two more conference games.

Going from a College Football Playoff contender to a team with no shot at a New Year’s Six bowl has been quite the fall from grace for such a high-profile coach as Gundy.

Ultimately, this all comes down to if Oklahoma State University is comfortable with parting ways with one of the most storied coaches in program history and a guy who used to play quarterback for them. If the buyout is too much for Oklahoma State to swallow, he may get another year to get this thing right. However, three conference losses in a playoff-caliber year does not cut it at all.

If Oklahoma State moves on from Gundy, it will be one of the best jobs to become available.
