Senior Texas offensive lineman Derek Kerstetter was taken to the hospital after suffering a gruesome leg injury.
Injuries are the worst thing that can happen at any point in any given football game. Unfortunately, that happened in the first half of the game between Texas and Kansas State when offensive lineman Derek Kerstetter suffered a devastating lower-leg injury.
Kerstetter bent backward on a sack in the second quarter and he was later carted off the field and transported to the hospital.

FOX broadcaster Joel Klatt was on the call for the game and said after an injury like that, the results of the game itself take a backseat to the health and well-being of the injured player.
“It almost makes the game secondary when something like this happens,” Klatt said. “Prayers to Kerstetter and his teammates, who have to move forward and play.”
Players on the Texas sideline came to the field to support Kerstetter before he was transported off the field.

When he was taken off the field, Kerstetter gave the “Horns Up” sign in an emotional gesture to signal to the fans that he’ll be okay, even though he is hurting and will have a long road to recovery in front of him.
