Tyreek Hill is robbed of a touchdown by Andy Reid (Video)
By John Buhler
Andy Reid just let a brilliant Tyreek Hill touchdown go to waste by not challenging for it.
Andy Reid failing to challenge this incompletion took a touchdown away from Tyreek Hill.
Kansas City Chiefs fans must be beyond furious over this coaching gaff by Reid. Initially, it looked like Denver Broncos cornerback A.J. Bouye broke up a touchdown pass to Hill on third down. Reid hastily opted to punt than challenge the play. While Hill did not think he came up with it, he so did. By not taking the time to throw the challenge flag, it took six points off the board for the Chiefs.
Hopefully, these six points do not come back to haunt the Chiefs
The Chiefs were 10-1 entering play on Sunday night. Though many people believe they will repeat as Super Bowl champions this season, Kansas City would not be the No. 1 seed in the AFC if the season ended today. Keep in mind the Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to lose a game through 12 weeks. These AFC contenders will not play this season unless they meet in the playoffs in January.
Should the Chiefs be dismantling the Broncos in primetime? Absolutely, but this is the NFL and stranger things have happened before. The Chiefs’ only loss this season was at home to the arch rival Las Vegas Raiders several weeks ago. A second loss before the Steelers even suffer one might mean the Chiefs will have to play on Wild Card Weekend where anything can happen.
Reid rarely makes boneheaded decisions these days, but this was a most glorious botch job.
