Fantasy Breakout Player of the Year:

Every year, there are players who find their footing in the big time. These aren’t rookies, they’re second year players and above who exploded on the scene after what may have been a quiet start to their careers.

  1. DK Metcalf

  2. Robby Anderson

  3. Calvin Ridley

  4. Josh Allen

  5. Terry McLaurin

DK Metcalf is the newest stud in fantasy football. We’re used to Devante Adams, Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, and Tyreek Hill sitting atop the WR scoring ranks, but DK Metcalf is now securely cemented in the top tier of WR stars, and is currently ranked as WR3 through 12 weeks of 2020.

Robby Anderson is another newcomer to the top of this list, sitting nicely at WR15 in his first season in Carolina. Calvin Ridley, a popular preseason breakout pick, started with a bang, sitting atop the WR ranks for much of the beginning of the season. Now, despite some injury issues, he is still securely within the top 15, just ahead of Anderson.

Josh Allen, one of my personal favorite players in the league, and my personal preseason pick for breakout player of the year, is making me look good as the current QB5 and the 7th highest scoring player in fantasy. Terry McLaurin, coming off a rookie season outside the top 20 in WR scoring, has jumped up into the top 10 this season primarily due to much improved QB play this season.
