The Baltimore Ravens season might be on the line Tuesday night against Dallas.
Two teams can be a disappointment for multiple reasons. The Dallas Cowboys spent oodles of money to pay everyone but their quarterback before the start of the 2020 season. Without Dak Prescott calling the shots, they have one win on the year.
The Baltimore Ravens looked to challenge the Kansas City Chiefs for domination in the AFC. Now, Lamar Jackson still is being questioned on if he can be the franchise guy moving past his rookie deal.
Either way, one of these two will disappoint fans on Tuesday night when they face off.
Jackson is set to return from the COVID-19/reserve list after missing Week 12 against the Steelers. If he played, perhaps that would have been the loss to send the Steelers out of the undefeated record books. Even without Jackson, Trace McSorely’s 70-yard touchdown pass to Marquise Brown made things interesting in a 19-14 defeat.
Jackson’s limitations have kept the offensive passing attack at bay in 2020. In 10 games this season, the reigning MVP has yet to throw for over 300 yards, while also committing at least one turnover in four of his last six games. Outside of Mark Andrews, Jackson hardly passes to his well-equipped receiver cop.
This could be a game to trust the run game as Dallas struggles in the open field tackling. The Ravens also are set to return J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram, solidifying the league’s No. 2 rushing attack. Meanwhile, Dallas allows a league-high 156.4 yards per gain and opponents to average 4.7 yards per carry.
