James Harden tells Rockets he’s open to 76ers trade, among others

Houston Rockets superstar James Harden has made it clear to the front office he’s open to being traded to a contender. 

Believe it or not, there’s even more drama building between James Harden and the Houston Rockets. After it was recently reported Harden missed the start of training camp to party in Las Vegas, it now looks like the star sharpshooter is ready to leave Houston altogether.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden has informed the Rockets that he’s open to a trade to a contender and near the top of his list are the Philadelphia 76ers.

Imagine, for a moment, Harden suiting up with Ben Simmons and/or Joel Embiid. Don’t worry if you forgot the popcorn, I’ll be bringing that as we watch to see how that plays out.

First Russell Westbrook was traded by Houston to Washington, and now it’s looking like Harden could be next to be sent to a new team as well. Harden has made it quite clear this offseason that he’s not happy with his current situation in Houston.

The fact that he didn’t report to camp on time and was seen all over social media living it up inside clubs in Sin City didn’t exactly send a strong message to the rest of the team either. With that being said, Harden is one of the best shooters in the game and the Rockets aren’t going to trade him away for a bag of peanuts.

If the 76ers make a move to try and land him, it’s tough to envision a trade where Philadelphia doesn’t include either Simmons or Embiid, unless of course they send numerous first-round draft picks. Even then, it might not be enough to convince Houston.

With the NBA’s opening night coming in two weeks time, it remains up in the air which jersey Harden will be rocking. It sure does feel like it may not be a Houston one.
