Jim Harbaugh says his Michigan football players really wanted to play in The Game this year.
Michigan couldn’t play Ohio State but Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh says they wanted to.
Well, this is not an episode of According to Jim, Jim. People are going to think the Michigan Wolverines are ducking the heavily-favored Ohio State Buckeyes this season due to a COVID-19 outbreak. Yes, Michigan has had issues with the virus for well over a week now, but people are going to tin-foil hat it as long as they can still go to the grocery store. Harbaugh said everyone who could play wanted to play.
Jim Harbaugh: “The players to a man wanted to play this game.”

Michigan was down 45 players due to COVID cases, contact tracing and injuries
At 2-4, this has been a disastrous season for the Wolverines. While they were not expected to win the Big Ten East over the Buckeyes, many people saw them as a team that would challenge for second place, along with the Penn State Nittany Lions. As it turns out, Michigan and Penn State were both terrible this season, and Michigan lost the head-to-head matchup a few weeks ago.
So where do Michigan and Harbaugh go from here? 2021 will be the final year of Harbaugh’s seven-year contract he agreed to in the final days of 2014. Both parties will not want him coaching on a lame duck contract. So he could get an extension with a favorable buyout should this thing end in divorce in a few seasons. Then again, he may go lead a team in the NFL in 2021.
Every Michigan player may have wanted to play According to Jim, but should we believe him?
