Joe Buck absolutely jinxed Justin Tucker while he was kicking this chip-shot field goal.
Justin Tucker was an NFL record-setter inside of 40, and then Joe Buck jinxed him so badly.
Tucker was attempting a 36-yard field goal at home vs. the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday Night Football. The Baltimore Ravens kicker is widely viewed as one of the best and most accurate kickers in the league today. Too bad Buck shamelessly jinxed him for the whole world to see. Well, Tucker missed his first field goal inside of 40 yards in 71 attempts. Way to go, Buck. Way to go.
Joe Buck mentioned how Ravens kicker Justin Tucker had made 70 straight field goals inside 40 yards.

Troy Aikman said, "We'll see if he keeps that streak alive here."
Buck: "I'm just gonna say he is. No announcer's jinx, come on!"

Joe Buck set Twitter a-blaze with a fiery passion of field-goal jinxing fury
Buck may be a hall-of-fame broadcaster in both baseball and football, but that does not mean he will not be Twitter’s collective punching bag from time to time. When you have been around as long as he has and have said some of the things he has said, this should come as a surprise to no one. Here is just a sample of the type of harpooning he was getting on Twitter for the total jinx.

Someone tell Joe Buck not to jinx our kickers when we are trying to make the playoffs

Thanks Joe Buck for jinxing the greatest kicker of all time. Like football fans needed a reason to hate you.

Listen to Joe Buck and Troy Aikman work their asses off for a minute straight in an attempt to jinx Justin Tucker.

I see Joe Buck trending and I wonder what stupid thing he said this time.

Despite Buck doing his very best to hex the heck out of Tucker, Baltimore would rebound just fine on the ensuing possession. Rookie linebacker Patrick Queen would pick off Andy Dalton‘s pass to set up a short field for the Ravens offense. This set up a nice dime from quarterback Lamar Jackson to wide receiver Miles Boykin for six points. At least Buck did not jinx that particular play.
When Buck opens his mouth, these sort of things will happen on a high-profile game occasionally.
