Justin Fields, Ohio State football players react to Michigan cancelation
By John Buhler
Justin Fields and many Ohio State football players are not cool with The Game being canceled.
The Game has been canceled, so Justin Fields and many Ohio State football players took to Twitter.
Ohio State has dominated this rivalry of late vs. the Michigan Wolverines. Nearly all the players on the 2020 Buckeyes team had not hit puberty the last time Michigan beat Ohio State. Because of an internal COVID-19 outbreak on Michigan’s side of things, Ohio State now awaits its Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff fate at only 5-0 on the year. So what happens now?

With a third cancellation, Ohio State would not be eligible to play for the Big Ten Championship game if the conference’s athletic directors do not make an exception for its lone undefeated team.
Fields and a slew of his teammates expressed their frustration on Twitter

Ohio State has the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Indiana Hoosiers, who would win the Big Ten East this year on account of a technicality if the conference’s athletic directors do not kick that silly six-game rule to the curb.

For players like Fields, this was going to be their last installment of The Game, and many wanted to add another pair of gold pants to their Buckeye wardrobe.

This was going to be the most lopsided game in the history of The Game, as the Buckeyes were a multi-touchdown favorite over the reeling Wolverines.
So what does the rest of the season hold for Ohio State? They will play at least one more conference game, presumably in the Big Ten Championship if the six-game rule gets waived. If the Buckeyes get to 6-0 and win the Big Ten title, they might make the College Football Playoff. At the very least, they will get a lucrative New Year’s Six bowl bid as a Power 5 conference champion.
The frustration is understandable.
