Red Sox ‘fan’ in a shop doesn’t even know who Manny Ramirez is
By John Buhler
Manny Ramirez was just being Manny and this Boston Red Sox fan did not recognize him.
Manny Ramirez deserved so much better than this encounter with a Boston Red Sox fan.
Ramirez was a 12-time MLB All-Star playing for five different organizations during his illustrious career. The team he is best associated with is the Red Sox. He played parts of eight seasons in Boston, making trips to the All-Star Game each year and winning World Series Championships in 2004 and 2007 with them. This fan wanted nothing to do with Ramirez, who only said, “nice hat.”
Manny Ramirez is a Boston Red Sox legend, you idiot
When a top-10 player in a franchise’s history tells you that you are wearing a nice hat, you thank him, you recognize him and you appreciate being in the presence of his greatness. He was not hitting on your girlfriend. Ramirez may be in his late 40s, but he was one of the most recognizable talents in the big leagues for over two decades. That dude can no longer claim to be a Red Sox fan.
This is equivalent of wearing Green Bay Packers attire out in public and Brett Favre giving you a compliment with a “Go, Pack. Go!” Maybe the guy is not a baseball fan and just wore it for the fashion or to impress the girl he was with? Either way, he looked like a Fool in the Rain and not in the cool Led Zeppelin kind of way. Don’t be Dazed and Confused. It was just Manny being Manny.
Just watch the 2021 Red Sox lose 100 games because of this, as if 2020 was not rough enough.
