College football DFS quarterback picks December 11:

Top Tier:

The stats favor Carson Strong on this slate, but I don’t think I’ll be using him. The Spartans are only allowing 221.8 passing yards per game and have only allowed six passing touchdowns in five games. Strong has little chance at a ceiling game and will have a hard time hitting his average.

The UTEP defense has been solid as well, but two games against FCS schools is helping their stats. Jason Bean has a better chance at a strong game than Strong. If I’m being honest, I’m not that wild about paying up at quarterback tonight. There’s good value below here.

Middle Tier:

The Arizona pass defense has been surprisingly good and Jayden Daniels is not having that great of a sophomore season. Of course, it has only been two games that were nearly a month apart. I’ll trust the Arizona defense more than Daniels right now.

We are looking for guys that can put up good numbers. That’s where Nick Starkel comes in. He had a pedestrian line against Hawaii, but Nevada is allowing 240.3 passing yards per game. The good news for the Wolfpack is that they have only allowed nine passing touchdowns in seven games.

Bargain Shoppers:

This is a great matchup for Arizona, but it’s likely that Grant Gunnell wont be able to go. Will Plummer is a big risk even in a great matchup, but he’s cheap enough to consider. Considering how solid the Colorado defense has been, Plummer may even be a better option than South Carolina transfer Jake Bentley.

The superb matchups are in the lower tier of quarterbacks. UTEP is a run-first team and Nevada isn’t allowing the touchdowns through the air. Can these guys really put up numbers that rival the expensive options?
