1. Start Ryan Tannehill in your playoff matchup

This is actually quite bold. Would you have dreamt the excitement of Ryan Tannehill as your quarterback for your fantasy playoffs the night of your draft? Probably not.

Tannehill has quietly been the seventh-best fantasy quarterback all season. You never realize it because a) He doesn’t draw attention to himself as a self-promoter b) It “feels” like he merely hands the ball to Derrick Henry and gets the heck out of the way. The latter is true and false. Tannehill does hand the rock to Henry with frequency but when called upon, Tannehill is a terrific passer of the football.

This week, Tannehill draws Jacksonville as his opponent. This should mean that your draw Tannehill’s name out of the hat to spite your opponents for Round 1 of your playoffs. Tannehill has scored more fantasy points in 2020 than Lamar Jackson, Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger, and Matthew Stafford. Why do we still treat him like waiver wire material?

The Jaguars do not stop quarterbacks. They allow a league-worst 26 points per game to all quarterbacks in 2020. Respectfully, you would be foolish to start someone that has a more established name than Tannehill. Try it if you must, but regret will sink in Monday morning.
