Multiple NFL teams have reached out to Marshawn Lynch about a comeback
After making his comeback with the Seattle Seahawks last season, could Marshawn Lynch put on pads again this year to help out a contender?
The 2020 NFL season has certainly been intriguing, but as it turns out, Marshawn Lynch may be ready to get back on the field and make some headlines. This week, Lynch, who helped the Seahawks in a Super Bowl in 2014, revealed to Conan O’Brien that multiple teams have reached out to him.
While Lynch has been enjoying life away from football, he’s clearly still got the itch to bulldoze his way over would-be tacklers. Could we see ‘Beast Mode’ back on the gridiron this winter?
Marshawn Lynch making another NFL comeback would be sweet to see
At 34 years old, Lynch of course is past his prime, but he showcased last season he can still make some head-turning plays when his number is called. Lynch was signed late in the 2019 campaign by the Seahawks after injuries ravaged their running backs room.
Lynch wasn’t the featured back, but certainly made a difference for Russell Wilson and the Hawks. Their season ended with the postseason loss to the Green Bay Packers, marking the last game NFL fans saw Lynch play in.
However, it doesn’t look like he’s ready to fully retire just yet. While Lynch didn’t share which teams have been in contact with him, he did say he’d be fully open to getting back on the field. The catch, though, is that’d it’d have to be for a Super Bowl contender. Lynch isn’t going to return to a team unless they have serious hopes of pushing for the Lombardi Trophy.
Should an injury come for an AFC or NFC powerhouse and they’re in need of a bruising back, it looks like Lynch will be ready to go if they come calling in the near future.
