Here are the five players to potentially breakout in fantasy football this week.

After last week, the majority of leagues have gone through the first round of fantasy football playoffs. Hopefully, you are enjoying a win and preparing for your next matchup. Or, perhaps in some leagues with earlier schedules, you may even be readying for the championship.

Even if you were not lucky enough to take home that victory in the winner’s bracket, you should not just punt on the consolation contest. So, no matter what bracket you are in, you should take the time to survey all your options this week. Specifically, those names going under the radar on the waiver wire.

At this point, it seems to be those boom or bust options that you will need to take the risk on. Most of the “surehanded” backups have been scooped from the wire already. In order to convince you to take a chance on a player, let’s look at the five players to potentially be breakout fantasy football starts in NFL Week 15.

In the infant stages of this unprecedented season, the New York Giants looked like a team going through the ugly part of a rebuild under a new head coach. Joe Judge and his club looked like a team enduring growing pains as they began the campaign 0-5. Things did not get much better until Week 9, as the team entered that week 1-7.

The ball was kicked off at the start of the Week 9 tilt against a divisional rival, the Washington Football Team, and since then the Giants have fought their way to a 5-8 record.

Now in the middle of a divisional playoff chase, adding players from this at times lackluster offense seems safer. So, look into Golden Tate.

Tate, himself, has had ups and downs this season. Previously benched by Judge, he has returned to the lineup and been a stable, veteran receiver for the Giants. He has not accumulated big yardage, and he has not scored as much as you as a fantasy owner would like. Either way, the value is there against the Cleveland Browns at home this week.

Like the Giants, Cleveland has been a resurgent team this year. However, defending the pass and opponent receivers have not been strengths.

Yes, the Giants have other options at receivers such as Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard. Even with those two in the fold, Tate still gets his action.

In this game, Tate can be that safety net when it comes to clutch downs and end zone opportunities. Regardless of who is under center, Tate’s value can blossom against the Browns in Week 15.
