Deion Sanders just landed his biggest commit as the Jackson State football coach.
Deion Sanders and Jackson State football just flipped four-star defensive back De’Jahn Warren.
It seemed like Warren was all set to play his college ball for the Georgia Bulldogs. The four-star JUCO recruit was the No. 2 overall junior college player of this cycle having played for Lackawanna Community College in Pennsylvania. The Hyattsville, Maryland native was thought to be going to the Penn State Nittany Lions before he committed to Georgia back in the fall. This one is shocking.

What does this mean for Deion Sanders and Jackson State football?
This is the third big move made by Sanders since taking over at Jackson State this offseason. His son Sheduer Sanders had originally agreed to play quarterback for Willie Taggart’s Florida Atlantic Owls before flipping to join his dad at Jackson State. Shedeur’s older brother Shilo Sanders followed suit to Jackson State after Will Muschamp was fired by the South Carolina Gamecocks weeks ago.
While there could be an academic component to Warren flipping from Georgia to Jackson State, it may also signify a movement of re-legitimizing HBCU football. Sanders starred in college for the Florida State Seminoles and in the NFL most notably with the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys. Simply put, Prime Time is having an effect on the recruiting trails at Jackson State.
It will be interesting to see how Sanders’ first year as a college head coach ultimately shakes out.
