The Las Vegas Raiders’ playoff lives are on the line against the rival Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night.

Entering Week 15, the Las Vegas Raiders need to win out for the remainder of the season if they want to sniff the playoffs. The first team standing in their way on Thursday night is the rival Los Angeles Chargers.

The Raiders entered this unenviable situation after getting blown out by the Indianapolis Colts 44-27. Shortly after the game, the Raiders fired defensive coordinator Paul Guenther and replaced him with defensive line coach Rod Marinelli.

On Thursday, the Raiders will be without key starters Henry Ruggs (reserve/COVID-19 list), Johnathan Abram (concussion), Clelin Ferrell (shoulder), Damon Arnette (neck/concussion) and Nicholas Morrow (concussion), while also being without offensive coordinator Greg Olson (COVID-19 reasons).

Meanwhile, the Chargers broke their end-of-game bad luck this past Sunday by kicking a game-winning field goal. Sure, it came against the Atlanta Falcons, another team unable to close a game, but the Chargers will take whatever wins they can get. Ahead of the contest, Los Angeles was facing uncertainty surrounding running back Austin Ekeler (quad) and wide receivers Keenan Allen (hamstring) and Mike Williams (back). The good news is that the Chargers will have all three players active for the Raiders matchup, but the receiving duo will be on a “rep count,” per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
