Unfortunate news has arrived for Ohio State — multiple players will reportedly miss the Big Ten title game due to the coronavirus.
With the Ohio State Buckeyes getting ready to take on Northwestern in the Big Ten title game on Saturday, some concerning news has arrived for head coach Ryan Day and his coaching staff. Per a report, the team is dealing with a COVID-19 issue and at least one player has tested positive.
Because of the positive case and close contacts, it’s looking like the Buckeyes could hit the field against Northwestern without multiple key players.

It's not known if any players will be out because of contact tracing. The college football world is now on the brink as we wait for updates.
Ohio State is dealing with a coronavirus issue leading up to the Big Ten title game
This isn’t the first time Ohio State has dealt with a COVID-19 problem, they’ve already had multiple games canceled this season. It’s been unfortunate to see, but the priority throughout the campaign has been to keep the players as safe as possible and not put them at risk of picking up the virus.
Despite all the adversity, the Buckeyes are a perfect 5-0 on the year and are ranked the No. 4 team in the country. Behind the strong play of superstar quarterback Justin Fields, Ohio State has been brilliant whenever they’ve been able to take the field. It’s why they have hopes of playing in the College Football Playoff.
A win over Northwestern would most certainly boost their hopes of reaching that goal and having the opportunity to play for the national title. However, we’ll have to wait and see what’s to come from this latest report, as it’s looking like Ohio State may be shorthanded this weekend to take on Northwestern. Stay tuned for what could turn out to be big updates coming from Columbus.
