Terry Bradshaw seemed to forget Joe Burrow’s name in a hilarious mistake.

FOX has Terry Bradshaw working overtime in 2020 as he appears on both Thursday and Sunday broadcasts. He is asked to rattle off his thoughts at a fast pace, and that leads to the potential of mixing up his words.

It happened again Thursday night as he was talking about rookie quarterbacks. He said the name “Doug” and for a moment NFL fans had no idea what he was talking about. It turns out he meant to say Joe Burrow. Listen for yourself.

Terry Bradshaw is all in on Doug Burrow

There is the potential to read into this situation way too much. However, it appears to be a simple mistake that we can laugh at as fans. Bradshaw was quickly corrected, and Cincinnati Bengals fans can have some fun with the “Doug” name.

Now we all just want to know who Bradshaw was thinking of with the name of Doug on his mind. Doug Pederson? Doug Flutie? Doug Williams? It is not the most common name, and perhaps Bradshaw just panicked and said a name that came to mind right away.

Anyone who has worked in broadcast media — or honestly just made a video before — knows the possibility of saying the wrong thing is very real. Unfortunately for Bradshaw, doing so on live television means there is no cutting and starting over. At least he simply misspoke and didn’t say anything actually bad.

The ascent of Joe Burrow was abruptly halted once he left with a season-ending injury. Now he can continue rehabbing under his new alter ego of Doug. We shall see if the team on FOX has some fun with this Sunday.
