NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 15 Sunday Slates Wide Receivers

T.Y. Hilton, IND vs. HOU ($5,500-DK/$6,800-FD)

Hilton has already delivered as a recommendation in this space, and given he continues to trend upward during the latter stretches of the season without much of a price bump, he’s right back in play as a value consideration in Week 15. In large part, that’s because Hilton will be going up against the team he put up his best performance of the year to date against, with the eight catches and 131 yards the 31-year-old mustered versus this same Houston squad in Week 13 qualifying as season-high figures. Additionally, the Texans recently lost their best corner by far in Bradley Roby to a season-ending suspension, which has helped lead to them giving up 260.7 passing yards per game over the last three.

Hilton is averaging 18.1 DK/16.1 FD points per game over his last three contests, courtesy of17 receptions, 277 yards and four touchdowns on 23 targets over that span. Then, Houston is surrendering the sixth-highest completion percentage (68.9) and is tied with the Falcons for the third-highest yards per attempt facilitated (7.4), while Hilton certainly still has the speed to break free deep against a pair of Texans safeties in Eric Murray and A.J. Moore that have allowed passer ratings of 128.5 and 131.3, respectively, and six touchdowns while in primary coverage. Finally, it’s worth noting Hilton has seen his highest target share (33.0 percent) in the short right passing window, the same area of the field where Houston has yielded 11 passing TDs and a 122 passer rating this season.

Danny Amendola, DET at TEN ($4,200-DK/$5,300-FD)

Amendola never quite seems to send DFS pulses racing, but the sure-handed veteran is enjoying more of a downfield role than at any other time in his career and is still priced extremely reasonably. Now, to be clear, there’s a bit of an element of risk attached here on a couple of fronts. For starters, as of Friday afternoon, there’s still a strong chance Amendola is catching passes from Chase Daniel and not Matthew Stafford (ribs/thumb) on Sunday, as the latter headed into the weekend without having practiced at all this past week.

Amendola is also losing some playing time to fellow vet Mohamed Sanu recently, but he’s nevertheless finding ways to be productive relative to his current salaries thanks to a career-high 9.6 yards per target and 14.6 yards per catch. Amendola has double-digit fantasy-point tallies in two of his last four contests, has logged at least seven targets in four games overall and is very likely to be playing another game without fellow wideout Kenny Golladay (hip).  Meanwhile, the Titans are giving up the most passing yards per game of any team on its home field (304.9), largely the byproduct of facilitating the third-highest completion percentage (69.3) in that split.

Donovan Peoples-Jones, CLE at NYG ($3,400-DK/$4,900-FD)

After a non-descript first eight games of his NFL career, Peoples-Jones has seemingly carved out a firm No. 3 role in the Browns’ receiving corps over the last two games with KhaDarel Hodge (hamstring) sidelined and benefited from some improved play on the part of quarterback Baker Mayfield. The speedy rookie has posted a combined 5-166-1 line during that span on eight total targets, and given his downfield role, Peoples-Jones will cost you a relative pittance if you’re playing in contests that encompass the Sunday night game.

The Giants are ranked in the upper portion of the bottom half of the league with their 241.5 passing yards per game allowed, and they’re also giving up 36.4 DK/28.6 FD points per contest to receivers specifically. New York is surrendering a 67.0 percent catch rate to wideouts as well, and with James Bradberry already ruled out for the contest due to his placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Peoples-Jones will be facing a depleted secondary that he could well take advantage of for a couple of big plays.
