Draymond Green is not expected to play Tuesday to open the 2020-21 NBA season.

The Golden State Warriors are hoping for some better results during the 2020-21 NBA season. The quest to return to greatness gets underway Tuesday night as the team heads to Brooklyn to take on a Nets team featuring Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

Of course, this means Durant taking on his former team for the first time. A major source of drama is the bad blood between Draymond Green and Durant. Green recruited Durant to the Warriors originally and what followed was the two clashing often and for everyone to see.

Unfortunately, it appears Green will not be on the floor Tuesday.

Draymond waiting for his revenge

Injuries ravaged the Warriors a season ago and while Stephen Curry has returned, the team will be without Klay Thompson for the entire season and Green is already dealing with an ankle problem.

Green not being able to talk trash to Durant on the court is a bit of a bummer. Given he makes the trip, he can be sure to be loud throughout the entire game from the bench.

The Warriors landing Durant secured the team two championships as they were essentially unbeatable when everyone was healthy. However, he was not a great fit with Green and that could have influenced his decision to leave another team for a new journey.

Golden State can now return to more of an underdog role that the team had before the dominance began. Curry and Green want to prove this team is still a championship contender and even though they are both being paid fortunes, they can try to get back into that former mindset.

They can also leave the Durant drama in the past and move forward in what they hope is a statement win to open the season Tuesday night.
