Listen to Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ recited as 1940s horse race commentary (Video)

You’ve heard the Eminem hit song “Lose Yourself,” arguably one of the best sports anthems. But have you heard the song recited like an old school horse commentator?
When it comes to recognizable songs of this generation, you can’t overlook rapper Enimem’s hit single “Lose Yourself.” The song from the critically acclaimed film “8 Mile” is arguably one of the best sports anthems and is one of the more meme-able music tracks of all-time (Mom’s spaghetti). It’s had its fair share of remixes and covers, but we’re quite sure you’ve never heard “Lose Yourself” like this.
Vocalist Elise Roth decided to put her own twist on the Eminem song, and that’s reading the lyrics as a 1940’s horse race commentator. And we’re not going to lie, it’s absolutely tremendous.
‘Lose Yourself’ the new anthem for horse racing?
From the fedora to the shirt-tie-vest combination to the classic microphone to the transatlantic accent, Roth really committed to portraying herself as a racing commentator. Come on, even the transition into Eminem’s verse is on point.
In a stressful year like 2020, videos like this will help us put a much-needed smile on our faces. Kudos to Roth, whom we hope to see call a Triple Crown race down the road.
