Alabama football fans outside Mercedez-Benz Stadium are having fun taking shots and playing beer pong before the SEC Championship Game against Florida.

The SEC Championship Game being played at all in 2020 is good news. While the atmosphere won’t be as raucous as usual, over 16,000 fans are still being permitted to attend.

Alabama football fans are showing up and we know this because of some pregame photos from outside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It appears nothing can stop a Crimson Tide tailgate where fans are taking shots (which will help them stay warm since they don’t have shirts on) and playing beer pong.

Alabama and Florida are both playing with the hopes of making the College Football Playoff. Crimson Tide fans expect a Playoff berth at this point and perhaps that allows for looser tailgates.

Tailgating is a college football tradition and custom that has been lost in 2020. Hanging out with friends around a grill and some coolers before a football game is a time-honored tradition that is tough to beat in the fall.

The picture only shows a small tailgate, but those involved give a great representation of how one goes. There are your casual drinkers, your beer pong players, and even a few people without shirts. That is any football tailgate wrapped up in one photo.

As for the game, the undefeated Crimson Tide enter as double-digit favorites over 8-2 Florida. The Gators believe they can make the Playoff with a victory, while the Crimson Tide are looking to simply take care of business and put an end to such a scenario.

Getting over 16,000 fans in the stadium will allow for some excitement in the stands and for fans at home watching on TV. Hopefully, everyone is safe and smart as they get the rare opportunity to see a football game in person in 2020.
